Class 44-1 was the first "triple threat" class at Carlsbad Army Air Field. These cadets were trained as bombardiers, navigators and gunners. Apparently most cadets were stationed at Santa Ana Army Air Field for pre-flight training and at Las Vegas for aerial gunnery school.
