Walt, these magazines were published at Hondo, but they were widely circulated among many air fields. They are not class books so you will not find individual cadets. Currently there is only one class book from Hondo in the collection and it is class 43-16.

Late getting back to you. I'm happy to report that at least I found my cousin's name (Edwin Ely Scranton) under the Navigators' Index for his Hondo Class 43-10 in the July 1943 Log! Thanks very much for the service you provide!

Great work! Your July 1943 "Log" includes a "Navigators' Index," pages 34-36. For those listed under "Aviation Cadets," this indicates their ranks at the time they began with Class 43-10 on March 12, 1943, correct? They were commissioned as Second Lieutenants at graduation, correct? Thanks very much.

Al, I'm not sure why aviation cadets are listed. Perhaps they were about to begin their navigation training. Yes, graduate navigators usually became Second Lieutenants or Warrant Officers.

Trying to select the Hondo issue(s) pertaining to my MIA cousin's nav training at Hondo. He was in Class 43-10 from Mar. 12-July 15, 1943 (when he graduated). He was in the AAF Navigation School, 88th Nav Training Gp, Cadet Detachment. His name: Edwin E. Scranton. Could you confirm that the issues I should be searching are V.1,#6 (July 43) & V.1,#8 (Aug. 43)? Thanks!!!
