Propwash
Class 44-E, Sequoia Field, Visalia, California
This book belonged to 1Lt. George R. Thomas, pictured on page 46. He was assigned to the 486th Bomb Group, 835th Bomb Squadron, Station 174, Sudbury, England. He was a B-17 pilot with 25 missions. His primary aircraft was the "Short Arm" (44-6616) which is depicted in several photographs and artwork, including the book, "The Mighty Eighth in Color." He died in 2016.
This book was contributed by his son Greg Thomas, MSgt, USAF, Retired. Himself a 20-year Air Force veteran who served in Vietnam, he has also written a book on his father's service during World War II.
