Glen, My late father-in-law, Joseph Reichert, was in Class 43-I. I have his Class Book and looked for your photo but did not locate it in book. A question - would Victory Field be the place to learn to fly? My father-in-law went on to Foster Field in August 43 and later to Dale Mabry Field in FL. By Mar 44 into 45 he was flying in the Burma-China-India theatre.

My Grandfather, Ben O. Eastman is in this yearbook. My aunt's copy has several signatures from his class mates as well. And Glen, you are in our copy (class 44D), pretty handsome too. Yes, Dwayne, Victory Field was a flight school.

Interestingly, as the war was winding down and they were about to close Victory Field, all of us Instructors who were young enough to become US Airforce Aviation cadets were invited to go through cadet traing. The war ended while I was in Basic and I went home to Iowa.

My father was an instructor and is in this yearbook. I have eight of his yearbooks. His name was Ralph Jaekel. I'm wondering if anyone knew him.

[7] John Selheim (23-May-2012 08:16 AM)

My Father was a cadet at Victory Field. His book is 44C.
He married my mother there and I was born in Vernon. My Uncle was in the same class. My Father went on to fly B-24 Liberators in Italy, with 454th Bomb Group, 739BS.
I have been trying to research information to find out what crew he flew with in Italy. I have been looking for flight crew numbers with a list of the flight crew. If anyone has any info contact me at jselheim@msn.com. Thanks,John.

My father, John C. McDonald (d. 2005) is in this class book. He went on to become, among other things, president of the Board of Visitors of the Air Force Academy.
