Estate of Leonard B. Fuller
Collection of Lt. Leonard B. Fuller
Lt. Leonard Buell Fuller served in the 355th Fighter Group, 357th Fighter Squadron, based at Steeple Morden, England. He attended primary flight training at Garner Field, Uvalde, Texas, then basic flight training at Goodfellow Field, San Angelo, Texas, then advanced flight training at Moore Field, Mission, Texas. He was in class 43-I.
Lt. Fuller was killed in action July 7, 1944 when his P-51D (44-13526) was hit by flak over Blankenhain, Germany. He was buried there until 1950, when his remains were returned to the United States.
