Astro-Dome Class book for navigator class 44-01 at Ellington Field, Ellington, Texas. [3] John D Reames Sr (25-Jul-2018 01:04 PM)Been looking for Class book for navigator class 44-02 at Ellington Field, Ellington, Texas. My uncle Harvey Arthur Ackerman graduated At Ellington Field, Texas January 7, 1944 Bomber Squad 2 Class of 44-2. He mentions 44-A a lot. He also mentioned a Lt. Farley and a Lt. Earl Anderson who he says are in his class book. I believe the latter to be MAJOR GENERAL EARL O. ANDERSON who entered active military duty in February 1943 and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Army Air Corps and awarded his pilot wings at Ellington Field, Texas, in January 1944. Preflight Class book for pilot pre-flight class 44-K at Maxwell Field, Montgomery, Alabama. [1] Pat Watts (16-Feb-2018 03:03 PM)Thank you for displaying these books. I believe my 92 year old dad, Lynn V. McDonald, was in this class, but I don't have the book and I am trying to piece his history together. Alzheimer's has taken away much of his memory in the last few weeks, and I am trying to understand his military life so I can provide him with an album of these years. I did not know much about this phase of his training, so now I can try to put things together. This is special - thank you! ...Pat Watts |

Brooks Field Class book for advanced pilot class 43-G at Brooks Field, San Antonio, Texas. [2] Mike Voisin (03-Sep-2017 05:03 PM)Class 43-G could have graduated about July 1943. There's a reference to that date in the cartoon on page 75. Many class books are intentionally vague on dates, sizes and assignments. They wanted to limit war-time information. [1] Pattyk (03-Sep-2017 03:24 PM)My dad graduated with 43G at Brooks. Do you know the date? I have searched this and other books, no reference to a date. He went on to train on the B-17. He received a crew at a base in Kansas, and arrived in England in January of 1945. First mission January 21, 1945. |
