I have this book in great condition, the only writing is on the first inside page that says Mit Gauthiov. I could be misspelling the last name as it is hard to tell a "u" from a "v" or if the "o" is a "g". Anyone interested, let me know.

Mike,
Thank you so much for adding the class book for advanced pilot class 41-G at Kelly Field, San Antonio, Texas to the collection. My twin bother Tom's and my late father, Col. Robert D. Kalb, USAF Ret., was in that class. Our father and mother, who our Dad met while at Kelly, would attend Class 41G reunions well into the 1970s. I recognized some of the other names in the class book as men that were life long friends of our father. They truly were the greatest generation.

Dear Mrs Berry. I am a surviving pilot, but from the class of 43J at Pampa, TX' I have been trying to locate some members of my year, but if any they are as old as me at 93.
I put in 30 years between the active and reserve and retired a Lt. Col. Sorry I don't have his year book, but still have mine. Love to hear from you.

[2] Janet McMonagle (04-Jul-2011 01:18 PM)

Very happy to find this, as my dad James McMonagle was part of this group and NEVER talked about WWII. I knew he had been part of a group at Pampa, but had no idea what kind of training he was involved in. He died young, when he was 43, so for me it is a real puzzle to put his history together. Thanks.

[1] Jimmie Berry (30-Oct-2010 10:36 AM)

I'm so excited to find this class book for 43-E because it has my husband's photo in it. I would love to find an old copy of the book to buy for him but as I doubt I'll ever be able to locate one the next best thing is to print it out for him. What a surprise he will have from Santa this year. We will have so much fun looking through it and talking about his advantures there. Thank you for making this book available. My very best regards, Mrs. Lawrence Berry, Fort Smith, Arkansas.

[1] Leeland H (30-Aug-2016 12:30 PM)

My wife and I would like to buy a copy of this book if anyone has one they'd like to sell or knows anyone who does. Her grandfather is Robert Adam Thompson who is pictured in this. It is the only known photograph we have of him since he died in a training accident in 1952 when my wife's father was only 4 years old and his mother died only a few years after that. Additionally most of his service records burned in the great archive fire of 1973 which has made it difficult to find information on him. We finally found enough clues to find that he'd attended flight school at Pampa which brought us here. We would also be interested in talking to or corresponding with anyone who knew my wife's grandfather.

My late father, Robert A. Benz of Portland, Oregon, was a flight instructor at Pampa on B-25's. Do any of you remember him? He passed away in 2005 and to his last day talked about his time at Pampa. His favorite story was flying a B-25 through the Grand Canyon (couldn't do that today!).

I wrote down the GPS coordinates for Pampa AAF and put them on the moving map when I fly over the area. I have never so far spotted it, but I will keep trying.

[1] Paul S Wilson (15-Sep-2011 03:36 PM)

I am very happy to see this book and those of other classes available online. The Internet is fantastic.

I am fortunate to have my dad's original copy. It has some mildew on the cover but is intact.

My dad was Robt. E. Wilson of Dallas, Texas. He was sent to troop carrier squadron in Rome after graduation where he flew C-47s. He participated in the Berlin Airlift in 48/49 and flew C54. Eventually flew for Pioneer Airlines, a forerunner of Continental.

If anyone else was in the class or your dad/grandfather was, share his story with me.

I am still in the family Dallas area, I am a Captain for Continental (now United) Airlines.

I went through the Pampa Army Air Field gig sheets with interest, hoping to find find photos of Samuel O Allen and Grover B Bjarnason. Allen and Bjarnason died on 8 Sept 1944 in a training crash. I am a volunteer with Stories Behind the Stars, a volunteer organization writing stories about those who died in service during WWII. https://www.storiesbehindthestars.org Bjarnason's headstone includes the fact that he was an A/C, his service # 3756 0124 and the words Class 44, I. I have a grainy newspaper photo of Allen, but would love to have a photo of Bjarnason. Thank you so much for making these resources available.
